TyRam vs Mewtwo

So a couple weeks ago I got to open up two Next Destinies booster boxes and I amazingly pulled three Gardivior and two Mewtwo EX! One full-face and one regular face. Anyway, The next day I got up at 5:00 AM and started building a Zoarork/Mewtwo/Gardivior deck. here's the exact list:

Pokemon - 15

2 Mewtwo EX
3 Gardivior ND
1 Kirlia ND
3 Ralts ND
3 Zoarork BW
3 Zorua BW

Trainers - 30

2 Engineers Adjustments
2 Super Scoop Up
2 Energy Retrieval
2 Pokemon Collector
2 Pokemon Catcher
2 Revive
2 Switch
3 Rare Candy
3 Professor Oak's New Theory
2 N
3 Eviolite
2 Professor Elms's Training Method
4 Pokemon Communication

Energy - 15

11 Psychic
4 Double Colorless Energy

So, back to the story. Ok so now I have what I think is a pretty good list and some high hopes. So where does TyRam come in you ask? Well, before all of this, I had a very successful TyRam deck that I have tested and tweaked to what I think is a high level. At least to the Midwest POP (Pokemon Organized Play) standards that is. Here's my current list:

Pokemon - 19

4 Cyndaquil HS
2 Quilava HS
4 Typhlosion Prime
2 Vulpix UL
2 Ninetales HS/CL
4 Reshiram BLW

Trainers - 27
1 N
2 Professor Juniper
3 Pokémon Collector
2 Professor Oaks New Theory
3 Sages Training
1 Professor Elms Training Method
3 Pokémon Communication
3 Junk Arm
3 Pokémon Catcher
3 Rocky Helmet
3 Rare Candy

Energy - 15

13 Fire
2 Double Colorless

And now that you know about my two decks, lets take a walk through the battle Between me, using my TyRam deck, And my brother Shane, (as you might already know to be a professional,) using my Mewtwo/Gardivior/Zoarork deck. So after we got set up, we rolled a die and he called heads. Alas, it was heads. He attaches a DCE (Double Colorless Energy) to his active Mewtwo, then uses a Pokemon Collector to search for two Zorua and a Ralts and benches them all. Then he finally uses Xball for 40. I draw a card to start my turn and with my Reshiram active and a Vulpix and Cyndaquil on the bench, i'm feeling like this is gonna be a pretty good run. then I use PONT. (Professor Oak's New Theory) after that, I lay down a Reshiram on the bench, and attach a DCE to my active Reshiram. Then I use Catcher (Pokemon Catcher) to bring up Ralts then finally use Outrage for the KO (Knock Out). Now it's Shane's turn. He draws a card then uses PONT. He then plays a Zorua and a Ralts on his bench. And he apparently did not get a good hand because next he just attacks with Xball for 80 which brings my Reshiram to 120. I draw, then evolve Vulpix into Ninetales then use Roast Reveal discard for three...

...Now skip ahead a few turns...

...It's my turn and I currently have one remaining prize card to his five with two Typhlosion Prime, a Ninetales and two Reshiram one fully loaded all benched. My active is a Reshiram with three fire energy on it and also equipped with a Rocky Helmet. Shane, on the other hand, has an active Mewtwo with a Gardivior, Zorua, and Zoraork on his bench. I use Blue Flare for 120. He draws, but apparently he's getting very bad luck because all says next is say "Your turn." I draw a card, attach an energy to my active Reshiram, use Afterburner once for an energy to active Reshiram, and finally use Blue Flare to KO for the game.

After that, I was, to say the least, extremely disappointed. I was thinking "Wow. That deck I woke up at 5:00 in the morning for was a complete waste."
But what I didn't know was how the second battle would turn out...

Long story short the second battle I got completely wasted. Mostly because of Zoarork's ability to turn my Reshiram's attacks against me without having to discard any fire energy with blue flare! Over, and over and over! Anyway, it turns out the rogue Mewtwo deck isn't so bad after all.

Well, I ended up giving the Mewtwo deck to Shane because he was kind of getting attached to it. Besides, I already had a "top tier deck" after all. But it was altogether a good experience and that matters right? - Thanks for reading! Peace.
